Climate work

Climate work, rooted in justice.

As a migrant from the Global South, climate work is personal to me. I come from places and communities that live closer to the effects of climate breakdown, so I approach this work not only as a communicator, but as someone who understands why climate and care cannot be separated.

Movement story

Helping grow #PhilanthropyForClimate.

What began with a small UK commitment in 2019 grew into an international movement with national, regional, and international commitments. My work has supported how that growth is communicated, framed, and made visible across channels and moments.

From a small group to a global movement.

The movement began with 14 UK-based funders in late 2019, expanded through European and national commitments, and launched the International Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change at COP26 through a WINGS Climate Task Force of over 40 networks from 21 countries.

My role has included helping communicate that expansion, writing communication plans, shaping public-facing stories and updates, and supporting progress reporting so the movement feels legible, active, and relevant to audiences across philanthropy.

A few movement markers

How the story expanded.

2019

UK commitment launched with 14 funders.

2020–2021

France, Spain, Canada, and Italy launched national commitments; the International Commitment launched at COP26.

2023–2024

Poland, Brazil, the Arab region, and South Africa added new momentum to the movement.

Today

Hundreds of signatories and a wider ecosystem of regional and national commitments.

What I support

Communication work around the movement.

This is not only brand visibility. It is also strategic communication, progress reporting, and making climate work easier for funders to enter.

Communication plans

Helping think through priorities, messages, moments, and how climate communication should travel across audiences and channels.

Progress reporting

Supporting reports and public updates that show how the commitment is being taken up and implemented in practice.

Movement visibility

Making the movement feel more legible through websites, stories, social posts, and strategic public-facing communication.

Featured outputs

Progress reporting and climate writing.

Two useful examples: a movement progress report and a co-authored article connected to COP29.

International Commitment progress reporting

I also support the communication side of movement learning and accountability, including progress reporting that helps make implementation visible and concrete.

How philanthropy can play an important role at COP29

Together with the Climate Head, I co-authored an article on philanthropy’s role at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan — an example of how I connect movement communication to wider political and climate moments.
